With the walls closing up in less than a month, the Coal Run Church of Christ was in a pinch to figure out what kind of wire should be run for their audio & video needs.  They weren’t exactly sure where projectors or speakers should be located and the questions kept coming.  So with a construction deadline looming overhead, they turned to AGI for assistance with audio, video, and acoustics.  AGI was able to promptly turn out a set of plans that outlined a system that met the church’s budget and in their timeline.  With little resource to spend, the church knew that the transition to the new room was going to be the best opportunity they would have in the next 10 years to upgrade, so every penny had to count.

The church elected to do the installation themselves and they went on to scour the internet for the best prices on equipment, finding that AGI was able to meet or beat nearly everything specified. Equipment included products from EAW, Sanyo, Audix, Crown, Allen & Heath, Shure, Sennheiser, DaCappo and more.

We were honored to be able to work with Coal Run leadership to quickly design a package that met thier needs and budget. We’re excited to hear about how thier first weekend goes – all the way over there in Kentucky!

New distributed audio system for St. Edward's Church

AGI completed the installation of a new sound system package incorporating a total of 17  QSC Acoustic Design loudspeakers in 8 different zones controlled by a BSS BLU-16 system processor.  The system addressed problems with unevenness and dead-spots within the room which has extremely low ceilings.  By creating multiple sets of delay rings, the new reinforcement system is able to provide better coverage at lower volumes throughout the space. Once the installation was done the team returned home.

Unfortunately even with a training over the new system the first weekend didn’t go so well with the new technology.

Upon hearing this, as a part of our commitment to our customers and our work, AGI sent Kelly Baum (our Project Manager) over for the weekend to help and train the lay leaders using the new system. Things couldn’t have gone any better and one of the comments from the church staff members after additional help was “folks could hear everything and it blended so well and at the same time soft, instead of just hearing one voice or one instrument.” In the end St. Edwards is very happy with thier new setup and grateful for all the help AGI provided.

Ray’s review of our system was helpful. He was thorough and I learned a few things! I also appreciated the summary he did as we completed the review. We do want to look into possibilities for a new projection system so I will be in touch with Enoch to set something up.

The system will be used primarily for the Life 101 ministry but will also be used for several annual outdoor events at Life Bible Church.  Life 101 is a college-aged ministry that meets on the University of Oregon campus on Thrusday nights.
